The lion (Panthera leo) is a member of the family Felidae and one of four "big cats" in the genus Panthera. Reaching up to 272 kg (600 lb), it is the second-largest cat after the tiger. Although lions were once widespread throughout much of Africa, Asia, Europe, and even prehistoric North and South America, they currently exist in the wild only in sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia with a critically endangered remnant population in northwest India. Lions are unusually social compared to other cats. A lion pride consists of related females and offspring and a small number of dominant males.

This is Krueger, the Denver pride's dominant male. the only breeding male actually. He's got three women and a plethora of babies. he's the same boy as in a number of my other submissions including [link] .

I love the Denver pride. they're awesome to shoot and just to watch. they make me happy, Krueger is awesome, sometimes lazy, but awesome. It doesnt hurt that the Denver pride has one of the best enclosures for photography of any lion pride i've come across.
